Today Is a great day! I'm getting ready to share my love of doll making with the world. I hope that there will be many of you who will join me. This is where we can discuss our creations and our frustrations.
I am having one frustration with my doll making project: I removed the eyes from my "Collin" head so I could reset them looking a different direction, but I can't find my tool that I use to hold the eye in place. do you sell those? What's the best type of glue (I've had two kinds not stick now) Once his eyes are in I can attach his head and he'll be done!
I have been designing and creating dolls of all kinds starting with hand stitched rag dolls from as young as age 5. As a young mother, I began enjoying the art of porcelain doll making. I have designed and marketed jointed bears, appliance covers, wedding and prom dresses, children's clothing and bedding. I have owned and operated a successful children's clothing store. As an accomplished seamstress and painter, my original dolls and patterns have been marketed through National fabric store chains and International craft magazines.
After being instructed at Ontario, Canada by Artist/Author Michele Barrow-Belisle in the Art of Reborning and Newborning, I am now focusing my occupation and talent toward creating these beautiful babies.
Individual classes are available by appointment in my studio on our farm. Occasionally I will offer group classes. Let me know if you are interested. Please join me on my blog.
